Set up a personal domain and have it hosted by a reliable hosting provider.
Domain
In order to have a website you need a domain name, e.g., www.yourdomain.com. A domain is also known as a URL and is “hosted” on a hosting provider. Your domain name needs to be unique. You can choose from many domain extensions, e.g., .com, .eu, .net, etc. For a list of domain extensions including prices, click here.
Blensis can work with you to choose your unique domain name, including the domain extension. Even though the .com extension is the most famous and popular, it often makes sense to use a domain extension from your own country, e.g., .co.uk for the UK or .de for Germany or .it for Italy.
Hosting Plan
Once you’ve chosen your domain name you’ll need to purchase it through a hosting provider. Blensis has worked with many hosting providers and will choose the one that’s best for your website.
Once a hosting provider is chosen, you will need to choose a hosting plan. The hosting plan depends on what your website will be used for as well as the expected number of visitors. Hosting plans can be as inexpensive as $3.99 per month all the way up to several hundred dollars per month and include variables such as data speed, the amount of memory available for website content and the amount of website traffic (visitors) that can be handled.
